Royalton Punta Cana – An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort & Casino

Our stay at the Royalton Punta Cana was awesome. This hotel had extremely nice landscape and LEDs wrapping all trees. Very picturesque... The beach was the best beach we had been to in all of DR. There were no weeds, clear sand and turquoise water. It was wavy but that was the nice part about it. Just bring your surfing board. The infinity pool was super nice. Some of the night shows were not children appropriate. The live performances in the foyer and verandah were very nice and entertaining (Mark Antony 👏). The food at the buffet was top notch. They had everything for every palate. We usually go to the restaurants because the buffet is usually not nice. But the buffet here is awesome. BBQ (Wilkin the cook would welcome and wave for you from far, BBQ your order and bring it to you. He has the best smile. We will miss him), chicken, beef, pork, fish (Hector was awesome and nice fish cook) every night. The first couple of nights they had crab legs, crabs and monstrous shrimps. The coffee shop was a blast. You get fresh espresso, cupachino, latte .... Idalenny, Francisca, Berenice were the best barristers....they were nice and funny and always there to make you happy.... Masks were required but rules were not strictly enforced ..... you do forget about COVID over there though ..... We were initially booked to stay at the Royalton Splash but we did not like it. There was no access to the beach, the food was subpar and the pools were very small and not exciting. There was no entertainment or it was very minimal. You will also need to walk 5-10min to get to the Royalton Punta Cana to get access to the beach. But you don't get access to the pools nor their restaurants. So unless you are looking for quiet and isolated resort, do not stay at the Royalton Splash. We talked to Yaqueson and his boss Amaryllis who gave a really good upgrade deal to stay the Royalton Punta Cana. As a cherry on top, they gave us diamond club privileges which gave us Nazario as our own butler. He was nice and took care of of moving our luggage and was there for us all the time making sure everything we needed was taken care off. Rosa at the diamond club was also understanding and cleared some issues with the room upgrade. Getting our luggage from the splash to our upgraded room at the Royalton Punta Cana was not smooth but Nazario took care of it. The PCR covid test was quick and easy. The doctor/nurse Buccoy knew what she was doing and was quick and not painful. Expect to spend a couple of hours to book your PCR test and attend the info session (which was surprisingly very quick). Once settled our stay was awesome. Staff was friendly and always attentive to serve you. We were very sad to leave 😢 but glad we were all negative heading back to Canada. The Waterpark was adequately nice for all ages. The lifeguards are nice and cooperative and are always available to jump in to help young kids to come out of any drops. It is a good destination to break the daily routine. The kids had a blast .... We will defenitely come back again if no issues leaving and coming back to Canada. Next time we will reach out to the hotel directly to book and arrange our own transfer (nexus tours). One last thing. Make sure to bring USD CURRENCY to be able to leave the country. You need $20 USD per person to be able to check in. No credit card no other currency accepted!!!! Also MAKE SURE TO FILL THE eTicket government form before going to airport to come back home. It was a mess at the airport. Wifi was extremely slow. Gov website was very slow also and timed out many times.....sunwing rep did not inform us or anyone else as everyone was frantically trying to fill the electronic exit form. We had one of the airport services personnel filling one for us on his cellphone. God bless him.... Upon arrival to Toronto half of our family was asked to test (Pink sticker on your passport). Green sticker were exempted and no isolation nor any other restrictions!!!! Enjoy your trip.
